AVIA is an app-based program that empowers sign language interpreters to decide when they want to work and how often. Accept assignments in advance or take them as they come!

Remote Assignment Options

Pre-Scheduled. Pre-scheduled assignments will be announced via the Access portal and via email. Interpreters are assigned and confirmed. Interpreters should adhere to the following for pre-scheduled AVIA assignments.

-Log in at least 5 minutes prior to your scheduled start time or your assignment will be transferred
-In the first 5 minutes, you will have the option to prep with your client for the assignment
-Finish prepping and start interpreting!

On-Demand. On-demand assignments will be blasted in real-time to the AVIA Alerter App which runs in the background of your smartphone. To accept the assignment, follow these steps:

    -Log into your alerter app and have it running in the background of your smartphone
    -An alert will be sent to your phone if an on-demand request has been made
    -Tap the app and indicate you are available for the assignment
    -If you are given the assignment, log in and enter the “interpreter lobby”
    -Click on the on-demand assignment and start interpreting!

Remote Work Station Requirements

To work on the AVIA platform, interpreters need to hold a current national certification, have a smartphone, and a hard-wired computer.
